Act 129 Smart Meter Milestone Plan

On October 15, 2008, Pennsylvania Governor Rendell signed House Bill 2200 into law as Act 129 with an effective date of November 14, 2008. The Act includes requirements for Pennsylvania Electric Distribution Companies to deploy smart meter technology. The Public Utility Commission has issued a series of orders implementing the Act. Under those orders, PPL Electric must file a smart meter plan. This website contains PPL Electric Utilities smart meter filing (referred to as "Smart Meter Technology Procurement and Installation Plan"), supporting documents and other information related to Act 129.
