PPL Electric Utilities is seeking proposals from competitive suppliers to fulfill its obligation as a default service provider. As a default service provider, PPL Electric Utilities must purchase and provide generation supply for customers who don’t choose alternative suppliers. The company serves 1.4 million customers in 29 counties of central and eastern Pennsylvania. Each quarter, the company seeks to replace expiring contracts. These contracts may include 12- and 24-month supply for load following full requirements fixed price tranches, 3-month Optional Monthly Pricing Product for LC&I customers, 12-month supply of spot market energy, and 12-month supply of block energy and alternative energy credits.
