Variety in payment choices, programs

PPL Electric Utilities offers secure electronic bill payment methods for your convenience.

With Automatic Bill Payment, the amount of the bill is transferred electronically to PPL Electric Utilities on the due date from a bank account you designate. You never have late-payment charges.

Paperless Billing, is available to customers with monthly bills of less than $100,000 and lets you view and/or pay your bill using the Internet. You can arrange to have bills paid automatically on the date due or you can schedule payments at a time that’s best for you. Payments made after the due date are subject to late charges. Customers who choose this option will not receive paper bills, but can view bills from the past six months on any computer with Internet access. Others in your company may view and pay bills if you share the password with them.

With Electronic Data Interchange Billing, we send electronic invoices with your usage, billing and payment information in a standard X12 EDI file format. If you have 100 or more accounts, this option can help you process bills and payments more efficiently. You will need to know how work with EDI transactions, and provide someone from your Information Technology department who can work with PPL Electric Utilities to get set up. If you choose this option, your payment must be made electronically. A PPL representative can discuss requirements with you, including communications options supported by PPL that will enable you to receive invoices through EDI. To apply for EDI, call the phone number listed on your electric bill.

Credit card and debit card payments go through an independent company, BillMatrix, which is available 24 hours a day at 1-800-672-2413. BillMatrix charges a fee for each payment. PPL Electric Utilities does not set the fee, and receives no portion of the fee.

Budget Billing enables you to pay the same amount each month and even out seasonal variations in your bill. PPL Electric Utilities reviews your account quarterly and may adjust the payment amount based on actual electricity use. To apply for budget billing, call the phone number listed on your electric bill.
