Land Recycling
Pennsylvania has a nationally recognized Land Recycling Program to help transform brownfield sites into productive properties. The hallmarks of this successful program are a streamlined review process, common sense standards and environmental protection.
Revitalizing communities by redeveloping brownfield sites is beneficial to the economic health of the community. It makes efficient use of land where significant infrastructure already exists.
Pennsylvania Act 2 provides liability relief for owners or developers. Act 3 extends protection to financiers. The Industrial Site Reuse Program offers grants to communities and the Infrastructure Development program offers grants to private companies for brownfield site reuse costs. PPL's Partnership Programs for Economic Development give priority to local economic development projects that reuse brownfield sites.
