Building or Renovating?

Arranging service for new construction? Call us early in your project to make sure that electric service is available when and where you need it.

To begin the process, call 1-800-DIAL-PPL (1-800-342-5775) from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Contractors can also use our rapid service request tool on the Web to apply for service.

It typically takes four to six weeks to connect electricity after you submit your request, as long as you meet our requirements for residential electric service, which may vary depending upon the project.

When you call to request service, you’ll be asked to provide:

  • The complete address of the site(s).
  • The stage of construction.
  • The number of the nearest pole or pad-mounted transformer (marked on metal plate).

We’ll also ask questions regarding the size and type of the new home or apartment, the kinds of appliances it will have and the preferred meter location.

If you are requesting service in someone’s name, we will need to send that person a ratepayer confirmation form to verify that he or she will accept billing.
