You can get paid to help reduce demand for electricity during peak summer hours with the Direct Load Control Program. Authorized Program Providers will install a control device on your heat pump or central air conditioning system so that it automatically cycles on and off during peak 2012 summer months of June through September. Installation is free, and as long as you participate for the entire period, you’ll get paid an incentive. This program is expected to launch at the end of this summer.
