PPL Electric Utilities’ Renewable Energy program has provided financial incentives to hundreds of customers who have installed solar photovoltaic arrays (PVs) and ground source heat pumps (GSHPs), enabling them to save money while reducing their carbon footprint.
Because of the tremendous popularity of this E-power program, the PV portion closed May 2010 and funds are rapidly depleting for the GSHP segment, requiring some program changes. As a result of the overwhelming customer demand for GSHPs, PPL Electric Utilities is establishing a reservation process for the fair and orderly use of the remaining budget for government, non-profit and institutional GSHP rebates. See details below.
Ground-Source Heat Pumps With the Renewable Energy Program, you can receive a rebate of $217 per ton of savings for the installation of a ground-source heat pump. Government, Non-Profit, and Institutional GSHP customers with completed GSHP projects or projects that will be completed by January 31, 2011 should send in their rebate request (completed rebate form, copy of customer bill and invoice for the GSHP) as soon as installation is finished, but no later than February 1, 2011.
Government, Non-Profit, and Institutional GSHP customers with projects that will be completed after January 31, 2011 must submit a form requesting reservation of GSHP rebates for their projects. When PPL Electric Utilities receives a reservation request form, we will determine the level of remaining funds and provide customers with confirmation that the rebate amount is reserved or that the funds have been depleted and no rebate will be provided.
Submitting a rebate reservation request does not guarantee a rebate. Only rebate requests with a rebate amount reservation confirmed in writing will be honored.
Photovoltaic (PV) Arrays (Solar Panels) This portion of the Renewable Energy Program is fully subscribed and is no longer accepting rebate applications or reservations. If you received notice that your rebate reservation has been approved for your PV project and your project has since been completed, please contact the rebate processing center at 1-866-660-4551 to obtain the necessary rebate form. |
