Thanks for making our compact fluorescent light bulb program a success
More than 140,000 bulbs distributed to Energy Analyzer users
Consumer response to PPL Electric Utilities’ compact fluorescent light bulb program was overwhelmingly positive. The company delivered more than 140,000 bulbs from November through January to customers who responded to the light bulb campaign by using the company’s Energy Analyzer.
We’re pleased that customers took these two steps to improve energy efficiency and help protect the environment. Through our e-power initiative, we continue to raise awareness about wise energy use.
More than 70,000 customers used the Energy Analyzer through June to learn about ways they could save electricity. The light bulbs they received for completing the Energy Analyzer could save them a combined $6.9 million in energy costs.
In addition, the bulbs could have the same effect at reducing greenhouse gas emissions as planting more than 12,000 acres of trees or removing more than 8,000 cars from the road for one year.
