Teachers, put your students’ creativity to good use as they explore how wise energy use promotes sustainability and a healthier planet.

THINK! ENERGY with E-POWER – BRIGHT IDEAS is a poster contest developed by PPL Electric Utilities Corporation and the National Energy Foundation ("NEF") for children in Grades K-8 and designed to combine a student’s artistic talent with the ability to portray how to use energy efficiently. BRIGHT IDEAS is a visual arts competition that challenges students to effectively and artistically communicate an energy efficiency message.

The teacher’s role is to direct and motivate the students and to submit all student entries, and the child’s assignment is to produce a beautiful, unique interpretation of what energy efficiency means to him or her.

Student grand-prize winners will get a $500 savings bond and, a pizza party for their class. Teachers of the grand prize winners will also receive a $500 classroom grant.

How to Enter
Teachers utilize the PPL Electric Utilities Fact Sheet on energy efficiency provided in the contest packet to introduce concepts to students.

• Teachers challenge students to produce their own poster design, explain the objectives and give students their deadlines. Students must describe what they learned, or what actions they took, based on their work in the poster contest.
• The entire class does not have to participate; however, the more students participating, the greater the likelihood is for the teacher to win a classroom grant. If one teacher has several classes, that teacher may enter all students and classes in the contest.
• Please ensure all students write their first and last name on the back of the poster and securely affix their completed entry form to the poster. If possible, package all entries safely in one box (fold 11" x 17" posters in half once, 8-1/2" x 11" posters should remain flat). PPL Electric Utilities assumes no responsibility for damages incurred during the shipping.
• All entries from a class must be sent together. Submit your students’ entries by April 6, 2012 to:
