Are there fees for this service?
PPL Electric Utilities does not charge customers for this service, although depending upon your plan, your mobile carrier may charge you messaging and/or data rates.
What if I change addresses or phone numbers?
Visit our website using your myPPL account information and make your changes. It's that easy!
What if I want to stop receiving alerts?
Simply visit our website at

How will I know that the enrollment was received and accepted?
Once you have enrolled, you will see a confirmation online that shows you who will receive the alert messages.
What type of messages will I receive?
You may choose to receive the alert message by phone, text, or e-mail. You have the option of associating up to 3 contacts to receive an alert. Each contact will be sent an alert at the same time.
How often will I receive an alert?
Once an outage has been reported and confirmed, PPL will send out the initial alert within 30 minutes. Subsequent messages will be sent within 30 minutes after any change in status. You will receive a final message when your power has been restored.
When will the messages be sent?
The myPPL Alert program is a 24/7 notification system. Keep this in mind when selecting the contacts for this alert as they could receive an alert any hour of the day or night.
How many messages will I receive?
You will only be alerted if an outage affecting your home or business is expected to exceed 30 minutes. You will receive a minimum of two messages; one to notify you of an outage, and one when your power has been restored. However, during an extended outage you may receive additional messages in thirty minute intervals if your outage status changes.
