How can  I report an outage using your phone system?

Call 1-800-DIAL-PPL (1-800-342-5775) and answer “yes” or press 1 when asked: “Are you calling about a power outage or electrical emergency?” When asked to describe the problem, say, “I’m out of power.”

How do you know where I’m located?

The system detects your phone number and uses that and a series of questions to verify the outage location.

How will I know you’ve recorded my outage?

After you report the outage, we’ll share information about our restoration efforts.

Can I report an outage using your web site?

Yes, you can report an outage by visiting our Outage Center.

Can I check the status of my outage using your web site?

Click here to check the status of your outage. If you are a first-time user on my PPL, you will need to create a User Name and password to get started.

Will you let me know when I can expect my power back on?

If we’re aware of your outage, we’ll give you an estimate of when we expect to have power restored. If the outage just occurred, we’ll estimate a time based on averages. As crews evaluate the damage, that estimate may change.

Can I call back to check on the status of my outage?

Yes. To get the most up-to-date information we have, call 1-800-DIAL-PPL (1-800-342-5775) and answer “yes” when asked: “Are you calling about a power outage or electrical emergency?” When asked to describe the problem, say, “What’s the status?” The system will ask for a reference number. This is your account number.
Also, when you call to report your outage, you can request a call back if your estimated restoration time changes.
