How do I start or stop my electric service?

How soon can I start or stop service?

We can start service in your name effective as soon as the next day. Please note next day service may not be available for new homes due to installation or inspection requirements.
 
We can stop billing you for your service as soon as the next day.

Is there a connection fee to put service into my name?

No, there is usually no fee for connecting service unless the service was shut off for nonpayment and you are requesting to be reconnected.

Can my spouse or another person request connection of service for me?

No, we can only put service into the name of the person to whom we are speaking.

How do I stop billing in my name or turn the power off?

We can take service out of your name effective the next day. If you need your electric service turned off, we can turn your electric service off if you call us at least one business day before you want to stop the service. Call us toll-free at 1-800-DIAL-PPL (800-342-5775). Customer service representatives are available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday.

I forgot to call you and take service out of my name when I moved. What should I do?

You should call us as soon as possible. We will then stop billing in your name on the next business day.
