PPL Electric Utilities Paperless Customer Giveaway Promotion "Paperless Customer Giveaway"

1. ELIGIBILITY:

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE/BECOMING A CUSTOMER WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR ODDS OF WINNING. Giveaway is open and offered only to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who (i) have an active residential account with PPL Electric Utilities Corporation that is no more than thirty (30) days past due as of the date of the respective drawing and are enrolled in paperless billing as of the day before each drawing; or (ii) who enter via mail-in entry (details below). Void in Puerto Rico and where prohibited or restricted by law. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. By entering this Giveaway, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to be bound by these Official Rules, which are subject to modification in the sole discretion of PPL Electric Utilities Corporation. All eligible entries have an equal chance of winning.

To be eligible for this Giveaway, you must be at least 18 years of age as of Tuesday, December 15, 2020. You are not eligible to enter if you are: (x) an employee of PPL Electric Utilities Corporation (“Sponsor”), its affiliates, or its advertising or promotional agencies; and/or (y) a member of the immediate family or household of any of the above persons. In these rules, "immediate family" means spouse, life partner, father, mother, brother, sister, son and daughter.

2. ENTRY PERIOD; HOW TO ENTER:

The Giveaway will be held on or about Tuesday, December 15, 2020.

You may enter the Giveaway in one of two ways: (a) Eligible customers will be automatically entered in the Giveaway; or (b) enter via email by sending an email to nawestring@pplweb.com and include in the body of the email: your first and last name, physical address, email address, and phone number and title your email “PPL Electric Utilities, Paperless Customer Giveaway”. If you are not already enrolled in paperless billing, to qualify for automatic entry into the daily drawing you must be enrolled by 11:59 p.m. EST Monday, December 14, 2020. Email entries must be received no later than 11:50 p.m. EST Monday, December 14, 2020.  

For customer entrants, Sponsor will use billing account numbers and not the individual account owners. LIMIT: One prize per person (regardless of the number of accounts one individual may have). Sponsor will not be responsible or liable for any human error. Entries are subject to verification and will be declared invalid and disqualified if they are late, illegible, unintelligible, incomplete, mechanically reproduced, mutilated, forged, falsified, altered or tampered with in any way.

3. HOW TO WIN:

On or about Tuesday, December 15, 2020, Sponsor will select one (1) winner (“Winner”) for the prize in a random drawing from among all eligible entries received by Sponsor (including those entries automatically entered). Odds of winning are based upon the number of valid and eligible entries. Sponsor cannot accurately predict the number of eligible entries. The Winner will be selected, as follows: Each eligible entry will be assigned a number. Each number will be placed into an on-line simulator/random number generator operated by Sponsor. A number will be selected by the generator and matched against Sponsor’s paperless billing customer and automatic billing customer lists and mail-in entry list, as applicable, for confirmation of the Winner’s eligibility (if applicable).

4. PRIZES:

The Winner will receive $1,000 given to the Winner in the form of a check within approximately 60 days of the prize being claimed and subject to compliance with these rules after the potential winner has been notified. The Winner is responsible for paying any taxes and fees associated with receipt or use of the prize. Any and all other costs or expenses associated with the prize shall be the Winner’s responsibility.

5. WINNER:

(a) Winner will be contacted by telephone within approximately three (3) days after being selected. If the Winner is not reachable by telephone after two (2) attempts, then Sponsor will attempt notification by mail. (b) Potential winners must continue to comply with all terms and conditions of these Official Rules, and (with respect to customer winners) each customer Winner’s account with Sponsor must not be more than thirty (30) days past due as of the date that the Winner’s name is drawn. Winning is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements. Failure to comply with any term or condition of these Official Rules will result in the entrant’s disqualification, and forfeiture of his or her prize (if that entrant is a Winner). In the event that a potential winner is disqualified for any reason, Sponsor will award the applicable prize to an alternate winner by random drawing from among all remaining eligible entries. Prizes returned as undeliverable or otherwise not claimed within 14 days after transmission of final notification will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner. Sponsor intends to award all prizes. Sponsor will not be responsible, however, if factors beyond Sponsor’s reasonable control prevent a prize or part of a prize from being awarded. In that event, a substitute prize or part of a prize will not be awarded. Prizes cannot be substituted, except as provided herein. Prize is not transferable or assignable in whole or in part, and must be accepted as awarded with no substitutions, whether in cash or otherwise, except at the sole discretion of Sponsor. Prizes are awarded “as-is” with no warranty or guarantee, either express or implied by Sponsor. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equivalent value if the prize cannot be awarded as described for any reason (equivalent value to be determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion).

6. FINAL DECISION:

All potential Winners are subject to verification by Sponsor. Each entrant agrees that all decisions of Sponsor regarding the selection of Winner and all other aspects of this Giveaway are final and binding in all respects.

7. CONSENT AND USE OF ENTRANTS’ NAMES AND OTHER PERSONAL INFORMATION:

All entrants understand that entries will be treated as non-confidential and non-proprietary, and Sponsor may collect, use, and disclose personal information for the purposes of Giveaway administration and prize fulfillment, and Giveaway related announcements and publicity.

8. GENERAL RELEASE:

All entrants and each Winner unconditionally, irrevocably, and forever releases, discharges and holds harmless Sponsor, and its officers, directors, employees, agents, representatives, parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, related companies, advertising and promotional agencies, and prize suppliers (and the respective heirs, successors, and assigns of each of the foregoing) (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from any liability whatsoever for any claims, costs, injuries, losses, damages, fees, or expenses (including, without limitation, attorneys’ fees and expenses) of any kind arising out of or in connection with (a) the Giveaway; (b) participation in the Giveaway; (c) the acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of any prize awarded (including, without limitation, claims, costs, injuries, losses, damages, fees, or expenses, including, without limitation, attorneys’ fees or expenses, related to personal injury, death, damage to, loss, or destruction of property, rights of publicity or privacy, defamation, or portrayal in a false light); (d) unauthorized human intervention in the Giveaway; (e) lost, late, delayed, postage-due, misdirected, or undeliverable hard copy entries, mail, or email; (f) errors in the administration of the Giveaway or the processing of entries; (g) the entrant’s inability to participate in the Giveaway; (h) any interruption in or postponement, cancellation, or modification of the Giveaway; (i) human error; (i) any other error or malfunction; (k) any wrongful, negligent, or unauthorized act or omission on the part of Sponsor, its affiliates or agents, or any other Released Parties; (l) any other cause, condition, or event whatsoever beyond the reasonable control of Sponsor, its affiliates or agents, or any other Released Parties; or (m) typographical, printing, or other inadvertent errors in these Official Rules or in other materials relating to this Giveaway. Potential Winners may be required to complete and return an additional affidavit of eligibility and liability/publicity release (the “Affidavit/Release”) within three (3) calendar days of being notified. If a potential Winner fails to sign and return the Affidavit/Release within the required time period, that potential Winner may be disqualified and a new alternate potential Winner will be selected in his/her place at random from all eligible entries received during the entry period.

9. INDEMNIFICATION BY PARTICIPANTS:

Entrants and winner agree to fully indemnify the Released Parties from any and all claims by third parties, without limitation, arising out of or in connection with the Giveaway, including, but not limited to, participation in the Giveaway, any prize used or awarded in the Giveaway, errors in the administration of the Giveaway, or any other errors or malfunctions, and any wrongful, negligent, or unauthorized acts or omissions.

10. CONDUCT:

Entrants and Winner agree to be bound by these Official Rules, which will be available on the landing page at pplelectric.com/paperless. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be: (a) tampering or attempting to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the Giveaway, or any Sponsor website; (b) violating the letter or spirit of these Official Rules or other guidelines of the Giveaway; (c) violating the terms of service, conditions of use and/or general rules or guidelines of any Sponsor property or service, or (d) acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person. Any attempt by any person to undermine the legitimate operation of the Giveaway may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and should such an attempt be made, Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. Failure by Sponsor to enforce any provision of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.

11. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY:

By entering the Giveaway and/or by accepting a prize, entrants and Winner agree (to the maximum extent permitted under applicable law) that: (a) any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or in connection with the Giveaway shall be resolved between the entrant and Sponsor without resort to any form of class action litigation, and entrant waives his or her right to a jury trial for such disputes, claims, and causes of action; (b) any claims, judgments, and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred in pursuing such claim, judgment or award, but in no event shall attorneys’ fees or expenses be awarded; and (c) under no circumstances will any entrant be permitted to obtain any award for, and entrant hereby waives all rights to claim, punitive, special, incidental, or consequential damages, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased, and any and all rights to other types of damages not expressly waived herein, other than damages for actual out-of-pocket costs incurred as set forth herein. Sponsor shall not assume and hereby disclaims any liability for Giveaway entries or notifications to Winner (including but not limited to prize deliveries) that are not received by such Winner.

12. CONSTRUCTION/GOVERNING LAW:

All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation, and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of any entrant and/or Sponsor, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules or provisions (whether of Pennsylvania or any other jurisdiction) that would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than Pennsylvania. The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these Official Rules shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. If any such provision is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable, these Official Rules shall be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or unenforceable provision was not contained herein. Entrants and Winner agree that any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or in connection with the Giveaway shall be resolved between the entrant and Sponsor exclusively by the appropriate court located in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

13. GENERAL CONDITIONS:

In the event that the operation, security, or administration of the Giveaway is impaired in any way for any reason, including but not limited to fraud, virus, or other technical problem, Sponsor may, in its sole discretion (a) suspend the Giveaway to address the impairment and then resume the Giveaway in a manner that best conforms to the spirit of these Official Rules; or (b) award the prize at random from among the eligible entries received up to the time of impairment. Sponsor further reserves the right and may, at any time and without notice or obligation, cancel, terminate, suspend, or modify any Giveaway or drawing not capable of completion as planned, including because of weather, infection by computer virus, tampering, unauthorized intervention, or technical or other failures of any sort or any other causes beyond the reasonable control of Sponsor.

For the names of the prize winners, send an email to nawestring@pplweb.com to request the winners’ list via email. Winner names will be sent after selection of the Winners.
