Joint Use

Information on pole attachments

Joint-use applies to customers that own their own poles and have negotiated an agreement between PPL Electric Utilities and their company. Joint-use contracts allow two pole owners to mutually occupy an area without multiple separate pole lines.

Our attachment specification (Spec 6-01-140), details a specific location for the Incumbent Local Exchange Carrier (ILEC), which applies to the first joint-use company in an area.

Joint-use customers have specific attachment and billing processes detailed within their contract. If you are from a joint-use company and are unfamiliar with your specific contract, please use our Contact Us form with any questions that you may have.

If you are interested in attachments but do not have a joint-use agreement, you likely fall under a third-party scenario.
