The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission has approved the replacement of our electric meters with new meters that will improve service to customers.
Our electric meters are approaching the end of their useful life and we want to be proactive in replacing them. In addition, technology has changed significantly since these meters were installed.
Customers will benefit from additional energy-saving technologies at their homes or businesses. The new meters also will improve electric service reliability through better detection of power outages.
The new meters will bring PPL Electric Utilities into full compliance with state-mandated regulations on metering technology. Installations began in late 2016 and will continue through 2019.
