An inspection by a certified electrical inspector is required before PPL Electric can approve the DER installation and provide a Certificate of Completion (COC). A PPL Electric signed and completed COC grants the customer Permission to Operate the DER system which is necessary for the customer to be compensated for any exported energy. Inspectors, who are certified or registered by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry, are listed on the Listing of Certified and Registered Code Officials

The following checklist can be used by electrical inspectors to determine if the DER installation meets PPL Electric’s requirements.
