Interconnection Requirements for Connecting Generation

(Includes Renewable Generators)

If you are a PPL Electric Utilities customer and are interested in connecting a generator – such as a windmill, solar project, bio-digester or other facility – to PPL Electric Utilities distribution system, you must follow several steps and meet certain requirements stated below.

If you desire to connect to the PPL Electric Utilities Transmission system or want to participate in the PJM market, please contact PJM.

These requirements are designed to ensure that your facility meets PPL Electric Utilities' standards for safety and will not diminish the reliability of our electric distribution system. They're also intended to help ensure that equipment, both ours and yours, is compatible.

If you would like to connect generation with PPL Electric Utilities' distribution system, please complete one of the applications listed below and email a scanned copy of the application and specs. If a third party owns your generation system, you must complete the Third-Party Supplement and include this in the email containing the scanned copy of the application and specs.  If you have a generator with an inverter, the inverter model must comply with IEEE 1547 and UL 1741 SA.  For additional information, refer to the Smart Inverter Supplement link below:
